Power your electric vehicle at home or work with safe, reliable Level 2 charging stations installed by certified electricians.
Electric vehicles are the future of transportation, but a proper charging setup is essential for convenience and safety. Our electricians are certified by Tesla, ChargePoint and other leading EVSE manufacturers. We handle everything from site assessment and permitting to installation and commissioning so you can charge worry‑free.
Installing an EV charger is straightforward when you work with professionals. We begin with a short consultation to learn about your vehicle, charging habits and parking setup. Next, we inspect your service panel and determine if a panel upgrade is required. We submit permit applications, schedule installation and coordinate inspections. Most Level 2 chargers can be installed in a single day.
As an independent contractor, we work with many EVSE manufacturers including Tesla Wall Connector, ChargePoint Home Flex, JuiceBox, Emporia and Wallbox. We’ll recommend the best charger for your budget, vehicle and connectivity preferences.
Georgia offers tax credits and utility incentives for EV charger installations, and some manufacturers provide rebates when you purchase through certified installers. We stay up to date on the latest programs to help you maximize your savings.
Most residential Level 2 installations in Blue Ridge and surrounding North Georgia areas range from $1,200 to $2,800, depending on charger model, panel capacity, and the distance from the panel to the parking spot. We provide a transparent material‑and‑labor estimate after a free site visit so you know exactly what you’re paying for.
Yes. Both Fannin and Gilmer counties require an electrical permit and inspection for any new dedicated 240V circuit. Smartlink handles the permit application, schedules the inspection, and meets the inspector on‑site so you don’t have to coordinate any of it.
A standard 200A panel can usually accommodate a 40A or 48A Level 2 charger, but it depends on your home’s calculated load from HVAC, water heater, range, and dryer circuits. During the consultation we run a formal load calculation. If your panel is too full, we’ll recommend either a panel upgrade or a load‑managing charger like the Wallbox Pulsar Plus or Emporia EV that throttles automatically when other large loads are running.
Most home installations are completed in 4–8 hours and finished in a single day. Complex jobs — long conduit runs, outdoor pedestal mounts, or a simultaneous panel upgrade — can take longer, and we’ll give you a realistic timeline before we start.
Hardwiring is required to use the full 48A continuous output that most modern EVs support, and it produces a cleaner finished installation. A NEMA 14‑50 plug‑in setup is fine for 32A charging and lets you take a portable charger when you travel, but the receptacle is a wear item over time. For permanent home installations we typically recommend hardwiring.
Yes. We routinely install weatherproof Level 2 chargers on exterior walls, on pedestals, and in detached garages and pole barns throughout North Georgia. Outdoor installations use NEMA 4‑rated chargers and weatherproof conduit, and we plan the wire path to keep the run clean and code‑compliant.
The federal Alternative Fuel Vehicle Refueling Property Credit covers up to 30% of equipment and installation costs (capped at $1,000) for qualifying residences in eligible census tracts — and most of North Georgia qualifies. We provide an itemized invoice you can submit with IRS Form 8911. Confirm current eligibility with your tax advisor before relying on the credit.
The Tesla Wall Connector is the cleanest option if your household is Tesla‑only. The ChargePoint Home Flex works with every EV on the market through the universal J1772 connector (or NACS adapter for Teslas) and includes a smartphone app for scheduling and energy tracking. Both are excellent and we install both — we typically recommend ChargePoint for mixed‑EV households and Tesla for Tesla‑only households.
Older panels often can’t support a 48A Level 2 charger plus today’s typical home loads. We upgrade 100A and 150A panels to 200A or 400A service throughout Blue Ridge and North Georgia.
